As Heatwave Pounds Phoenix, League of Conservation Voters Endorses Raquel Terán for Congress

“Raquel Terán is exactly the bold leader we need in Congress to advance climate progress and combat environmental injustice”

Phoenix, AZAs the Phoenix metro area surpasses its 27th day with temperatures over 110 degrees, candidate for Arizona’s Congressional District 3, Raquel Terán, announced a new endorsement today from the League of Conservation Voters.

"The Phoenix metro area is facing some of the harshest ramifications of environmental and climate injustice with high asthma rates and the looming water shortage," said Raquel Teràn. “I’m proud to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund as we work together to tackle the climate crisis, ensure Arizonans have clean air and clean water for generations to come."

“Raquel Terán is exactly the bold leader we need in Congress to advance climate progress and combat environmental injustice,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “From her time as an organizer to serving in the Arizona legislature, Raquel Terán has always fought for our communities, our environment and our democracy against extreme polluter interests and we are proud to endorse her for Congress to continue this fight.”

“I always think about my son EJ,” said Terán. “I want him and all of our children to be able to grow up and be able to raise their own families. I worry every day about if they will be able to do that here in the Valley. But I fight environmental justice so that they can have the opportunity.”

The League of Conservation Voters is the latest endorser to throw their support behind Raquel Terán, joining the Working Families Party, Senator Mark Kelly, PODER PAC, Vote Mama and dozens of local leaders throughout Arizona.
